Dhaka city polls ends, voting peaceful 

The polling remained peaceful.

Many voters, including Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda and Dr Kamal Hossain, faced hassles over fingerprint mismatches at separate voting centres, reported bdnews24.

Even as BNP-backed candidates alleged that polling agents were expelled or barred from 43 voting centres out of 54 in his city corporation area, the ruling Awami League leaders rejected them.

CEC Huda was quoted as saying by bdnews24: "Voters will come. It's the responsibility of the candidates to ensure their presence at the voting centres. Our job is to create a proper voting atmosphere. There were no lackings on our part on that front."

This is one of the key polls in the country after the general elections which was held in 2018. PM Sheikh Hasina returned to power for another term.
