Rafiqul Islam 'Shishu Bakta' Rafiqul transferred to Kashimpur Jail
Dhaka, April 10: 'Shishu Bakta' Rafiqul Islam has been sent from Gazipur District Jail to Kashimpur Central Jail-2. He was transferred on Saturday (April 10) at 9:15 am under tight security by RAB-police. Gazipur District Jail Superintendent Bazlur Rashid Akhand confirmed the matter.
It is learned that Rafiqul Islam was sent to Kashimpur Jail from the district jail at 9.15 am on Saturday. He reached Kashimpur Central Jail at 10 am, jail sources said.
It may be mentioned that a case was filed against Rafiqul Islam on Thursday (April 8) under the Digital Security Act at Gachha Police Station in Gazipur on charges of anti-state, provocative and arrogant remarks and creating chaos. Later another case was filed in his name in Dhaka.
Earlier on Wednesday (April 7), RAB arrested Rafiqul Islam from Letirkanda in Purbadhala upazila of Netrokona.
Gazipur Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner of Police Mohammad Iltutmish said RAB-1 DAD Mohammad Khaleq filed a case against Rafiqul Islam under the Digital Security Act at Gachha Police Station on Thursday morning. He was later shown arrested in the case.
He was produced in the court of Gazipur Senior Judicial Magistrate Md Shariful Islam on Thursday morning and the court ordered him to be sent to jail after the hearing.
