Dhaka, March 30: The High Court has granted bail to Rafiqul Islam Madani, who is known as 'Shishu Bokta', in four cases under the Digital Security Act of Dhaka and Gazipur on the condition that he will not give anti-state and provocative speech in any Waj Mahfil in future. As a result, there is no obstacle to his release from prison, the lawyers said.

The High Court bench of Justice Mustafa Zaman Islam and Justice Md. Aminul Islam gave this order on Wednesday. Advocate Ashraf Ali Mollah appeared on behalf of Madani in the court. Deputy Attorney General Shaheen Ahmed Khan appeared for the state.

After the hearing of the case filed under the Digital Security Act, the High Court said in an order, "We do not agree to grant bail to Rafiqul Islam Madani after examining the case filed against him, his confessional statement, charge sheet, and evidence of the case. However, if Rafiqul Islam Madani gives an affidavit in the form of an affidavit not to make statements or statements that are against the state and society and against the prevailing laws of Bangladesh, causing religious conflict, then we can consider his bail."

The High Court bench of Justice Mustafa Zaman Islam and Justice Md. Selim gave this order on June 27 last year. In view of the order of the High Court, the affidavit goes to the Jail authorities through the Cyber Tribunal of Dhaka. Recently, Rafiqul Islam Madani signed the affidavit in the presence of Kashimpur jail authorities.

He wrote in the affidavit that he will not give any speech against the state and society and against the prevailing law in any waj mahfil. "I will not give any speech in waj mahfil which harms the image of the country and creates conflict in the public mind."

RAB arrested Rafiqul from his house in Netrakona on April 7, 2021 at around 3:30 pm on charges of provocative and arrogant speech against the state and creating chaos. At that time, four mobile phones were seized from him.
