Dhaka, May 17: Due to the Corona pandemic, working people were not allowed to go home during the Eid holidays. Launches, trains and long-distance buses were closed. But more than one crore and six lakh people have left Dhaka in 12 days. And more than four lakh people have returned to Dhaka in one day after the Eid holiday.

On Sunday (May 18th), Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar said in a post on his verified Facebook page that users had left Dhaka with 1,64,05,697 SIM cards from May 4 to 15 on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr at risk. And only on May 15, users returned to Dhaka with 4,12,763 SIM cards.

He wrote, "I have said before, I am still saying - the future will be able to say how many people have gone home with what in the name of Eid, and how many are coming back with what. May God have mercy."

On Saturday (May 15) before and after the Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations on Friday, May 14, people were seen leaving and returning to Dhaka with health risks. People were seen coming and going in trucks, pickup vans, microbuses and private cars. Earlier, 9,21,635 SIM owners left Dhaka from 4 to 13 May, 7,99,380 from 14 May and 8,24,682 SIM owners left Dhaka on 15 May. A total of one crore six lakh forty five thousand six hundred ninety-seven people have left Dhaka in 12 days.

The closure of public transport has created a serious threat to the corona infection of people coming home and coming in such crowds. The 'lockdown' has increased by one week due to this fear. Meanwhile, health experts have advised those who have gone home on the occasion of Eid to stay in the village for 14 days.

Health experts and public health experts fear that the corona infection will increase as they leave and return to Dhaka. In this situation, the Department of Health has requested those who have gone home ignoring the instructions of the government to return to Dhaka after 14 days if their offices are not opened.
