Dhaka, July 3: From June 27 to July 1, in these five days, 99 lakh 47 thousand 726 SIM users left Dhaka. On the contrary, 32 lakh 82 thousand 152 people entered Dhaka during this period. Meanwhile, after the five-day holiday of Eid-ul-Azha, government and private offices opened on Sunday, but most of the streets of the capital remained empty.

Post and Telecommunication Minister Mustafa Jabbar said this information in a Facebook post on Sunday.

He said that 19 lakh 5 thousand 593 SIM users went out of Dhaka on Tuesday (June 27) during the Eid holiday. 31 lakh 41 thousand 430 people went out of Dhaka on Wednesday (June 28), the day before Eid. 23 lakh 98 thousand 500 SIM users left Dhaka on Eid day as well. 14 lakh 31 thousand 590 SIM users left Dhaka on Friday, the day after Eid. Last July 1 (Saturday) 1 million 70 thousand 613 SIM users went outside Dhaka.

On the other hand, during these 5 days maximum 7 lakh 78 thousand SIM users entered Dhaka on Tuesday. Last Saturday, 6 lakh 61 thousand 813 people entered Dhaka.

Meanwhile, public and private offices opened on Sunday after the five-day holiday of Eid-ul-Azha. However, most of the streets in the capital were empty. As there was less traffic on the roads, there were no traffic jams either.

Transport workers say that not even half of the amount of public transport that runs in Dhaka during normal times is on the road. Many public transport drivers, helpers, supervisors have left Dhaka and gone to village homes for Eid. They said that many of the employees have not returned after going to the village for Eid. As a result, although the number of public transport on the road is less, passengers can easily travel from one place to another. Passengers are not under much pressure in public transport.

Eid-ul-Azha was celebrated on June 29. Official holidays are scheduled on June 28, 29 and 30 on the occasion of this Eid. Along with this, the government declared June 27 as a general holiday by executive order. There are four days of public holiday on the occasion of Eid. July 1 falls on Saturday after the government holiday. As a result, the leave is increased by one more day. After five consecutive days of vacation, the office has started again from Sunday.
