Independence Award 10 individuals-organisations to get Independence Award
Dhaka, March 8: In recognition of his glorious and meritorious contribution at the national level, Shahid Ahsanullah Master, poet Mahadev Shaha, composer-lyricist Gazi Mazharul Anwar and eight other eminent personalities and an organization are receiving the 2021 Independence Award.
A list of nominees for the Independence Award was released in a press release issued by the Cabinet Division on Sunday (March 8th). This time Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council is getting this award as an institution.
This is the highest state award in the country. The government has been giving this award every year since 1986 on the occasion of Independence Day on March 26. In the case of Swadhinata Puraskar, the winner will be given Tk 5 lakh, 50 gram gold medal of 18 carat value, a replica of the medal and a certificate.
In the case of independence and liberation war, four people are getting independence award this time. They are- Late AKM Fazlur Rahman, Shaheed Ahsanullah Master, Late Vir Muktijoddha Brigadier General Khurshid Uddin Ahmed and Late Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu.
Dr. Mrinmoy Guha Niyogi is getting award in science and technology category. Poet Mahadev Shaha is getting award in literature. In culture, playwright Ataur Rahman and composer-lyricist Gazi Mazharul Anwar are receiving the Independence Award.
