11.51 crore people have received the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine

Dhaka, April 12: A total of 11 crore 51 lakh 46 thousand 677 people have received the second dose of vaccine against the coronavirus in Bangladesh. It is about 97 percent of the target population and 68 percent of the total population.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services, 12 crore 82 lakh 45 thousand 465 people have been covered under the first dose of vaccine since the beginning of vaccination program in the country. Besides, 11 crore 51 lakh 46 thousand 677 people got two doses of vaccine and one crore 8 lakh 35 thousand 694 people got booster dose.

Vaccination activities for 12-17 year old students started in Bangladesh from last 1st November. One crore 72 lakh 98 thousand 32 of them have been vaccinated so far. The second dose has been given to one crore 57 lakh 64 thousand 443 people. Among those who received the first dose, 15 lakh 33 thousand 589 students have not yet received the second dose.

Meanwhile, 4,928 students across the country were vaccinated with the first dose on Monday (April 11). The second dose was given to 11,687 people.

According to the DGHS, 2 lakh 12 thousand 691 floating people in the country have come under the vaccine so far. They have been given a single dose of Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
