13 students selected as Bangabandhu Scholars

Dhaka, March 31: On the occasion of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's birth centenary 'Mujib Borsho', the government has decided to select 'Bangabandhu Scholar' and provide scholarships to 13 meritorious students of university level.

The initiative has been taken jointly by the Secondary and Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education under the Prime Minister's Education Assistance Trust. This information has been known from the sources of the Prime Minister's Office.

According to the sources, the 13 fields from which meritorious students will be selected as 'Bangabandhu Scholar' and for scholarships are 1. Social science, 2. Arts and humanities, 3. Business education, 4. Law, 5. Physical science, 6. Engineering and Technology, 6. Science, 6. Biology, 9. Education and development, 10. Medical, 11. Arts and crafts, 12. Agriculture and 13. Madrasa education.

The notification, signed by Nasreen Afroz, managing director of the Prime Minister's Education Assistance Trust, said a scholarship would be selected from each jurisdiction and awarded a scholarship.

On the occasion of Mujib's centenary, students have to apply following the conditions and qualifications and other issues mentioned in the 'Bangabandhu Scholar' selection and scholarship award guideline of the Prime Minister's Education Assistance Trust.

The application form will be available on the website of the Prime Minister's Education Assistance Trust.

The notification further states that the certificate or degree obtained from a recognized board of education or university for a person must have three first class or department or equivalent. Or SSC or HSC with GPA or CGPA 5.00 (in case of scale 5.00) and graduate with GPA or CGPA 3.70 (in case of scale 4.00).

In addition, students who have been confirmed or admitted to the post-graduate classes of public-private universities can apply for the 'Bangabandhu Scholar' scholarship.

Attested copy of all Educational Qualification Certificate, Number Sheet, and Extra Curriculum Achievement Certificate should be attached with the application form.

The completed application form and copy of National Identity Card should be sent by post or directly to the Managing Director of the Prime Minister's Education Assistance Trust (Prime Minister's Education Assistance Trust, House No. 44, Road No. 12 / A, Dhanmondi, Dhaka-1209) by April 15. .

Nominees will receive certificates as well as cash. The Prime Minister is expected to hand over the honors to these scholars in a grand ceremony.
