Dhaka, February 10: Detective police have recovered two sacks of money from the house of a yaba smuggler in Cox's Bazar after apprehending him. Tk 1,70,63,500 was found in those two sacks. The detainee has been identified as Zahirul Islam Farooq

The money was recovered from his house in Nuniarchhara area of ​​Cox's Bazar town around 5pm on Tuesday (February 9). Earlier, he was caught with 14 lakh yaba.

Cox's Bazar Superintendent of Police Md Hasanuzzaman said Yaba don Zahirul Islam Farooq and Babu were arrested along with 14 lakhs yaba from the Chaufaldandi Bridge area of ​​Cox's Bazar Sadar on Tuesday (February 9) at noon. Later, 3 more people involved in the incident were arrested. However, the police did not confirm their identities.

Cox's Bazar Superintendent of Police Md Hasanuzzaman said Zahirul Islam Farooq was detained along with 14 lakh yaba. At the time, he admitted to keeping a large amount of money in his house to sell yaba. According to his information, two sacks of money were recovered from his house. Tk 1,70,63,500 was found in two sacks.

He said legal action would be taken against the members of the ring who were arrested in connection with the recovery of yaba and money.
