19 vehicles including train torched during 36 hours of blockade

Dhaka, Nov 21: Miscreants set fire to 19 vehicles in 36 hours of the 48-hour blockade called by BNP-Jamaat and like-minded parties. These vehicles were set on fire between 6:00 am on Sunday (November 19) and 6:00 pm on Monday (November 20).

On Monday evening, fire service media cell officer Talha bin Jasim said that the fire service received reports of 17 fires in 36 hours of the 48-hour strike. In this incident, 19 vehicles caught fire. Among them, four incidents occurred in Dhaka city, one in Dhaka division, seven in Natore, Bogra and Sirajganj in Rajshahi division, four in Feni, Mirsarai and Satkania in Chittagong division, and one in Jamalpur in Mymensingh division.

In this incident, 10 buses, a covered van, six trucks, a CNG autorickshaw and a train were burnt. As many as 31 units of fire service and civil defense and 156 personnel worked to extinguish the fire. The Fire Service received reports of 195 fires (including vehicles and structures) set by unruly mobs between October 28 and 6 pm on November 20.
