2 killed, 6 hurt in Narsingdi bus-covered van collision

Dhaka, Feb 24: At least two people were killed in a collision between a bus and a covered van in Narsingdi. Six passengers of the bus were injured in the accident.

The accident took place on Saturday (February 24) around 4 am in Bhagadi Kadmatla area of Tongi-Ghorashal-Panchdona road of Palash upazila of Narsingdi.

Ghorashal police outpost Sub-Inspector (SI) Naibul Islam confirmed the matter.

Deceased Idrees Ali (35), a resident of Kishoreganj district, was the driver of the Ena Paribahan bus involved in the accident. The identity of the dead covered van driver and the injured are not yet known.

The police said that six people injured in the accident were rescued and sent to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital.

SI Naibul Islam said that the passenger bus of Ena Paribahan was going to Dhaka. On reaching Bhagadi Kadmatla of Palash upazila on Ghorashal-Panchdona road on Saturday morning, there was a head-on collision with a Corvad van coming from the opposite direction. The driver of Ena Paribahan Idris Ali and the driver of the covered van were killed on the spot.
