218 people registering every minute to get coronavirus vaccine

Dhaka, July 14: There is a growing interest in the country to get vaccinated against coronavirus. More than 218 people are registering for the vaccine every minute. In the last 24 hours, 3,14,907 people have registered in the Surokkha app for vaccination.

Since Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the coronavirus vaccination program in the country on January 27 this year, a total of 96,58,291 people have registered for vaccination till 5:30 pm on Tuesday, July 13.

As of 5:30 pm on Monday (July 12), the number of vaccine registrants was 93,43,384. As many as 3,14,907 people have registered for corona vaccine in the last 24 hours.

Among those who registered for vaccination, 58,20,033 people received the first dose of Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine produced by the Serum Institute of India, while 42,95,81 people have received the second dose.

In addition, 36,566 people have received the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine, 3,73,016 people have recived the Sinopharm vaccine and 26,690 people have received the Moderna vaccine.

A report signed by Dr Mizanur Rahman, Director, Department of Health, MIS and Line Director, HIS and e-Health, shows that 293 people were vaccinated with the second dose of AstraZeneca vaccine on July 13.

On the same day, 6,714 people (5,978 men and 636 women) were vaccinated with the first dose of Pfizer; 1,04,763 people (63,464 men and 41,299 women) have been vaccinated with Sinopharm's jab and 26,690 people (16,083 men and 10,607 women) were given the Moderna vaccine.
