Dhaka, December 20: The 21st session of the 11th National Parliament begins on January 5 at 4 pm. President Md. Abdul Hamid convened this session under the powers given in Clause (1) of Article 72 of the Constitution.

There is a constitutional obligation to convene another session within 60 days after the conclusion of one session. Accordingly, the 21st session of the 11th National Parliament will begin on January 5 at 4:00 PM in the Parliament Chamber of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhavan located in Sherebangla Nagar, Dhaka.

Before this, the 20th session of the 11th National Parliament began on 30 October. The working day of that session was 6 days. At this time, 91 notices are available in 71 rules of procedure-rules besides the execution of work related to legislation. Rule 71(a) provides 30 notices of 2 minutes duration. A total of 44 questions were available for the Prime Minister to answer, of which he answered 14 questions.

Ministers answered 439 questions out of a total of 1 thousand 13 questions received for the answers of the ministers of various ministries. 4 bills were passed in this session. The reports of 2 standing committees were presented in this session. Besides, the members of parliament discussed the point of order on 3 November 2022 on the occasion of 'Prison Killing Day'.

In the closing session, Speaker Dr. Shireen Sharmin Chowdhury said, "Under the able leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh is moving forward at an unstoppable pace on the path of development, surpassing all the countries in South Asia. Achieving all the targets of the Millennium Development Goals, achieving the sustainable development goals declared by the United Nations by the year 2030 under her able leadership. Under his strong and courageous leadership, Bangladesh today has received the final recommendation of the United Nations to transition from a less developed country to a developing country."
