Dhaka, December 14: While digging at the third terminal under construction at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, another 250 kg cylinder-like wartime bomb was recovered.

Another General Purpose (GP) bomb-like object was found about 10 feet below the ground while digging at 8:35 a.m. Monday.

The bomb disposal team of Bangabandhu Air Force Base Bangabandhu arrived at the spot with modern equipment and defused the bomb. The bomb was later taken to a safe place to be destroyed.

Sources said that bomb experts believe that the bomb was dropped on the ground in 1971 during the war of liberation. The bomb is being sent to the firing range at Rasulpur in Tangail to deactivate it completely.

Earlier, a similar bomb was recovered on December 9. Later on December 10, the bomb was destroyed at the air force firing range at Rasulpur in Tangail. The bomb exploded with a loud noise.
