Dhaka, 6 August 2023: 10 people have died across the country in the last 24 hours till 8 am on Saturday due to dengue fever.

With this, the number of people who have died due to dengue this year has reached 303.

In addition, 2 thousand 495 people were newly admitted to the hospital at the same time. Earlier on July 30, two thousand 731 people were admitted to the hospital in one day, which is the highest in one day this year.

According to the Department of Health, 2 thousand 495 people were admitted to various public and private hospitals of the country due to dengue from 8 am on Friday to 8 am on Saturday. Among them 1 thousand 69 residents of Dhaka and 1 thousand 426 people outside Dhaka. Besides, seven out of 10 people who died in 24 hours are residents of Dhaka. Health Directorate said that three are residents of outside Dhaka.

From January 1 to August 5 this year, 63 thousand 968 people were infected with dengue. Among them 34 thousand 523 residents of Dhaka. 29 thousand 445 people were admitted to hospitals outside Dhaka. At the same time, 54 thousand 331 people got clearance from the hospital. Among them 29 thousand 602 residents of Dhaka and 24 thousand 729 people outside Dhaka.

Earlier in 2022, 281 people died due to dengue, the highest in the history of the country. 27 people died of dengue in the last month of that year, December. At the same time, 62 thousand 382 people were admitted to the hospital due to dengue in the year under discussion.
