Road Accident 4 killed in truck-ambulance collision in Gopalganj
Dhaka, July 7: Four people were killed in a head-on collision between a truck and an ambulance in Gopalganj Sadar Upazila. Four others were injured in the incident. The accident took place at Arambagh area of Dhaka-Khulna highway around 7:30 am on Thursday.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gopalganj Sadar Police Station Md. Javed Masud said that an ambulance was going from Khulna to Dhaka with a patient. Meanwhile, the ambulance collided head-on with a truck carrying an earthmoving excavator coming from the opposite direction.
The OC also said that police and fire service personnel went to the spot and rescued the injured on the way to Gopalganj 250 bedded general hospital and three others died after being taken to the hospital. The rest of the injured are being treated at the hospital. However, the identity of the immediate casualties was not known.
