43 succumb to coronavirus within a day
Dhaka, June 11: In the last 24 hours, 43 more people have died due to coronavirus in the country. Among them were 30 men and 13 women. Of the 43 dead, 36 died at government hospitals, six at private hospitals and one at home. The death toll rose to 13,032.
At the same time, 18,777 samples were collected and 18,535 samples were tested in 510 public and private laboratories. The total number of sample tests stood at 61,44,773.
In the last 24 hours, 2,454 new patients were identified in the sample test. The total number of infected patients rose to 8,22,849.
A statement signed by Additional Director (Administration) of the Department of Health Prof Dr Nasima Sultana on Friday (June 11) said 2,286 people have recovered in the last 24 hours. So far, a total of 7,61,916 people have recovered.
Compared to the sample test, the detection rate was 13.24 percent. Compared to the total test, the detection rate is 13.39 percent.
Of the 43 people who died in the last 24 hours, eight died in Dhaka division, 10 in Chittagong division, 11 in Rajshahi division, seven in Khulna division, two in Barisal division, four in Rangpur division and one in Mymensingh division.
The age-based analysis found that 24 of those who died in the last 24 hours were over 60 years old, 11 people were aged 51 to 60, four people were aged 41 to 50, two people were aged 31 to 40 and two people aged 21 to 30.
