45 BNP leader-activists resign in Jhalkathi in support of Shahjahan Omar
Dhaka, Dec 6: As many as 45 leaders and activists of Kanthalia upazila of Jhalkathi BNP and allied organizations have resigned.
On Tuesday, they held a press conference at the bus stand area of the upazila and announced their resignation.
In a press conference, Kanthalia Upazila BNP Organizing Secretary Md. Elias Mia said that BNP's former vice chairman and former law state minister Shahjahan Omar has recently resigned from BNP and joined Awami League as he was not appreciated in the party for a long time and is being selected as the nominated candidate of Awami League in Jhalkathi-1 constituency. In protest of devaluation of the party and in support of our beloved leader Shahjahan Omar, 45 leaders and activists of BNP and affiliated organizations resigned voluntarily.
