Dhaka, June 2: Recently, a young Bangladeshi girl was sexually abused in India. That video has gone viral again through social media. There is a lot of discussion going on in both the countries. While investigating the incident, information about the international women's trafficking ring came out. The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested four members, including Ashraful Mandal alias Boss Rafi, one of the ringleaders of the ring.

RAB claims that Ashraful Islam alias Boss Rafi (30) has trafficked 500 women to India in the last eight years. Those women were forced into prostitution. About 50 people are involved in this human trafficking ring. The other four members of the gang arrested are Shahida Begum or Madam Shahida (46), Md. Ismail Sardar (38) and Md. Abdur Rahman Sheikh alias Arman Sheikh (26).

Commander Khandaker Al Moin, director of the agency's legal and media wing, made the remarks at a press conference at the RAB's media center on Tuesday (June 1) evening.

He said the arrested Boss Rafi had educational qualifications up to eighth grade. He started his journey in the southern part of India eight years ago. At first he worked as a taxi driver and later as a hotel staff and eventually as a garment trader.

Boss Rafi was introduced to TikTok Hridoy two years ago. Rafi trafficked more than 50 young women to India through Hridoy. According to police, Hridoy's involvement was found in the recent incident involving a Bangladeshi girl who was sexually abused in India, police said.

Highlighting the main issues of the women trafficking ring, the RAB official said that the victim's father filed a case with the Hatirjheel police station on May 27 under the Human Trafficking Act and Pornography Act. Four other unidentified persons, including Hridoy were accused in the case. In this context, RAB started a shadow investigation of the incident. Following this, four persons, including Ashraful Islam alias Boss were arrested from Jhenaidah Sadar, Abhaynagar of Jessore and Benapole in the raids of RAB headquarters and RAB-3 from May 31 to June 1.
