Accident 6 passengers of easybike killed in collision with pickup van in Bagerhat
Dhaka, July 23: Six passengers of an easybike were killed when a pickup truck hit them at Fakirhat in Bagerhat. Another person was injured in the incident. The accident took place in the Bailtali Primary School area on the Dhaka-Khulna highway around 7:45 am on Friday (July 23).
The deceased were identified as Utpal Raha, 45, son of Dilip Raha of Naldha Maubhog area of Fakirhat, Nayan Dutt (25), son of Jagadish Dutt of the same area, and Abdul Hai (55) of Chaksi village in Shrifaltala union of Rampal upazila. The identities of the others were not immediately known. On the other hand, Nur Mohammad (60), the only injured passenger of Easybike, was rescued and admitted to Farikhat Hospital.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Fakirhat Police Station Saidul Anam said, "An easybike carrying passengers from Noapara reached Bailtali area and pushed a pickup coming from the opposite direction. Six passengers, including the driver of the easybike, were killed on the spot. One of the injured was rescued by the locals and sent to the hospital."
Bagerhat Fire Service Senior Station Officer Md. Shahjahan Siraj said, "Locals rushed to the rescue hospital before we reached the spot. Police recovered six bodies from the spot and handed them over."
