65 succumb to coronavirus, 1,739 new cases identified in a day

Dhaka, May 3: Coronavirus has killed 65 more people across the country in the last 24 hours. Among them were 42 males and 23 females. Of the 65 people, 45 died at government hospitals, 15 at private hospitals and five at home. The total death toll in the country rose to 11,644.

At the same time, 1,739 new corona patients have been identified. The total number of identities stood at 7,63,682.

A press release signed by Additional Director General (Administration) of the Department of Health, Prof. Dr. Nasima Sultana on Monday (May 3) said that 19,452 samples were collected and 19,431 samples were tested in 420 public and private laboratories in the last 24 hours.

The detection rate in the sample test is 8.95 percent.

Since the first patient was identified on March 8 last year, the total detection rate has been 13.84 percent.

In the last 24 hours, 3,834 people have recovered. With this, the number of patients who recovered after being infected with coronavirus in the country is 6,91,162. The recovery rate in 24 hours is 90.50 percent.
