Dhaka, Sept 6: A friend of China no longer needs an enemy. They never helped anyone out of self-interest. China's debt trap has left Sri Lanka and Pakistan on the brink of ruin.

Shahriar Kabir, president of 1971 Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee, said these in the keynote speaker's speech at the launch of the book 'Chiner Utthan : Udbigno Protibeshi' (China's Rise: Concerned Neighbours) at the National Press Club on Tuesday afternoon. The book is written by retired Justice AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik. Published by 'Charidik Publication'.

Shahriar Kabir said that all the bullets used by Pakistani forces to kill Bengalis in the Great War of Liberation in 1971 were given by China.

He said, China was not on our side in 1971. They were for Pakistan. All the weapons and bullets used by the Pakistani forces in the massacre of Bengalis in the Great War of Liberation were provided by China.

Author and journalist Shahriar Kabir said that China and Russia are not going to the G20 conference. Through this, China further deteriorated its relations with India. There is a map dispute between India and China.

Historian Professor Muntasir Mamun presided over the event. Among others who spoke were General Secretary of Jatiya Press Club and editor of Bhorer Kagazi Shyamal Dutta, retired Major General Mohammad Ali Shikder and others.
