Own Correspondent, Dhaka, Oct 3: Mosque and temple in the same courtyard. Incense stick on one side, perfume on the other side. On one side there is uludhvani, on the other side there is zikir going on.

In this way, two separate religious places of worship have been running for ages, setting an example of religious harmony. On the occasion of Sharidiya Puja, such a scene can be seen in different places in Bangladesh. Two examples are given in Mahishkhola and Lalmonirhat towns of Narail Municipality:

Puran Bazar Jame Masjid and Kalibari Central Temple in Kalibari area of bordering district Lalmonirhat town are in the same courtyard. People continue to practice their own religion. The Autumn festival is going on now.

Locals said that the Kali temple was established in 1836. At that time, in the old market area of Kalibari area in Lalmonirhat city, devout Muslim businessmen from different countries built a small house next to it for praying. And it is also named as Puran Bazar Jame Masjid. Since that time, the work of two temples of two religions has been going on in one yard. Before the start of the puja, the mosque and temple committee met and decided. No untoward incident has occurred so far.

Common people are coming from far and wide every day to see temples and mosques. Ambassadors of some countries have also visited these temples and mosques.

Meanwhile, in the Mahishkhola area of Narail municipality, mosque-temple, worship, and prayers are going on without interruption. A small field has a mosque on one side and a temple on the other. When it's time, some go to pray, and some go to see the goddess. Everyone is practicing their religion independently; Keeping the harmony going.

Such bright signs of religious harmony can be found in the Mahishkhola area of Narail municipality on the banks of the Chitra river. For nearly four decades, people of Hindu and Muslim communities have been celebrating their religious festivals with respect for each other. Everyone is participating in the festival according to tradition.

Local residents said that once the old sub-registry office of Narail was in Mahishkhola. This mosque named Mahishkhola Old Sub Registry Office Jame Masjid was established in 1974 next to that office. Later, in 1992, the construction of the mosque started again. And in 1980, Mahishkhola Sarvajaniya Puja Mandir was established. The temple has been established in its own place.

Subal Das of Jessore's Bagharpara area, who came to see the Mahasaptami puja at the temple, said, "I had already heard about this place. In the same place as well as in temples and mosques everyone practices their religion. It was nice to see. If everyone was in harmony like this, there would be no more quarrels about religion."
