Dhaka, Nov 29: General Secretary of Awami League and Minister of Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader said that the issue of seat sharing will be coordinated with the allies after monitoring the situation. He said this in response to the questions of journalists at the political office of the Awami League president in Dhanmondi of the capital on Tuesday afternoon.

Obaidul Quader said that Awami League will have candidates in all 300 seats. However, if there is a compromise, some seats will be given up to the coalition partners.

Regarding seat sharing among partner parties, he said, "December 17 is the last day to withdraw nominations. In between we will monitor and coordinate. I will do whatever is necessary. Everything will be finalized by 17th."

In response to the question whether there will be chaos if the Awami League leaders are independent candidates against the nominated candidates, the general secretary of the party said, "We are seeing who wants to (participate in the elections). We have a strategic decision, until the 17th. We can change and modify it. We will have strategic direction."

In response to another question, Obaidul Quader said that we do not have a strategy to bring BNP to the elections. They are welcome. Some of their party may come. Some are collecting nomination papers. After 30th everything will be fine.

Regarding fair and free elections, he said, "Sheikh Hasina has ordered the party's nominated candidates and leaders and workers to follow the election code of conduct. Our target is peaceful, free, fair and acceptable elections."
