Dhaka, April 19: Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has alleged that BNP is once again planning arson attacks in the run-up to the upcoming parliamentary elections.

He said, evil forces are working to destabilize the normal situation. Election-centered inactivity has started again. The incident of fire in several places in a row is like arson. What matters most is whether the market is on fire or planted.

The bridge minister said these things in a joint meeting of the editorial board and associate organization president-general secretary with the general secretary of the party at the political office of Awami League president Sheikh Hasina in Dhanmondi on Wednesday. Awami League general secretary said that Awami League leaders and workers will be on guard in the country's markets, Sheikh Hasina is uncompromising on the issue of democracy, constitution and stability of the country. There is a fear of the black shadow of arson around the elections. Footsteps can be heard like in 13-14-15. BNP could not gather public support through countrywide protests, marches and human chains. The people did not respond to their calls.

Obaidul Quader said that there is no problem about friendship with America, democracy will not work according to anyone's formula in Bangladesh. The overall situation of Bangladesh has been informed to everyone including EU, US Ambassador. The election will be conducted according to the constitution and will be conducted by the Independent Election Commission. The government will not interfere here.

Referring to the unity of non-communal forces across the country, he said, BNP wants an unusual government in the country. They started playing with fire again. Having failed in the movement, they rose up to shake Sheikh Hasina.
