All offices, public transport will remain closed for 14 days after Eid

Dhaka, July 14: The government has said that all offices and public transport will remain closed for 14 days after Eid.

The Cabinet Division issued a circular on Tuesday (July 13) relaxing the restrictions from midnight on Wednesday (July 14) till 6 am on July 23. In the same circular, it said another cycle of hard lockdown will be imposed in the country from 6 am on July 23 till August 5.

According to the government notification, all government, semi-government, autonomous and private offices will be closed, public transport on roads, railways and waterways, domestic flights and all movement of all types of vehicles will remain suspended. All shops, shopping malls and markets will  remain closed. All tourist centers, resorts, community centers and recreation centers will remain closed. All kinds of industries will remain closed.

However, the Bangladesh Supreme Court will issue necessary directions regarding the courts. And Bangladesh Bank / Financial Institutions Department will issue necessary instructions to ensure the services of bank-insurance / financial institutions.

Government employees will be stationed at their respective workplaces and will carry out office work virtually (e-documents, e-trading, e-mail, SMS, WhatsApp and other means).
