Dhaka, October 11: Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Vikram Kumar Doraiswami has said that Bangladesh and India are two different countries, tied by blood, while inaugurating the Durgotsab at Khamarbari Pujamandap in the capital on Sunday (October 10) evening.

The High Commissioner hoped that by removing all the problems of the world, Mother Durga would bring good to the country, nation and the world.

He said, "At this time we are facing a lot of Mahishasur (demons). Covid, hatred, enmity surrounds the darkness. May Durga Puja destroy all these and inspire the country, the nation and the world to prosper. Mother Durga helps us with our own knowledge and our efforts. Mother Durga arrived as a symbol of peace. Durgotsab is a celebration of the fight against violence."

He further said that we have to work for the formation of Sonar Bangla by invigorating the young generation.

Earlier, the Indian High Commissioner inaugurated the Durgotsab by lighting the lamp. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal was present as the chief guest on the occasion. Dipti Alanghat, 2nd Secretary (Diplomatic) of the Indian High Commission, Samir Chandra Chand, President of Sanatan Samaj Kalyan Sangha and many others were present.
