Khulna Covid-19 Another 22 people die in a day at 4 hospitals in Khulna
Dhaka, July 8: Another 22 people have died in four hospitals in Khulna in the last 24 hours. Nine died at Khulna Corona Dedicated Hospital, eight at Gazi Medical College Hospital, two at Corona Unit of General Hospital and three at Abu Naser Hospital.
Dr Suhas Ranjan Haldar, focal person of Khulna Dedicated Corona Hospital, said nine people had died in the hospital in the last 24 hours, while 193 people are undergoing treatment there. Of these, 129 are in the red zone, 25 in the yellow zone and 19 in the ICU. Thirty-two people have been admitted in the last 24 hours. Fifty-one people have recovered.
Three people died in the corona unit of Shaheed Abu Nasser Specialized Hospital. They have been identified as Abul Bashar Mollah (46) of Dumuria in Khulna, Rizia Begum (65) of Batiaghata and Sirajul Islam (65) of Kaliganj in Jhenaidah.
Besides, 43 people are admitted in the corona unit of the hospital as opposed to 45 beds. Ten among them are in the ICU. Four people have been admitted in the last 24 hours. One person has recovered.
Dr Kazi Abu Rashed, a spokesman for the General Hospital's 80-bed Corona Unit, said two people had died at the hospital in the past 24 hours. They are Ansar Sheikh (60) of Bagmara, Rupsa, Khulna and Amena Begum (80) of Uttar Chandnimahal, Dighalia. Besides, 68 people are undergoing treatment, out of which 33 are men and 35 are women. Eighteen people have been admitted in the last 24 hours. Thirteen people have recovered.
Dr Gazi Mizanur Rahman, proprietor of Gazi Medical Hospital, said eight people had died in the hospital's corona unit in the last 24 hours.
They have been identified as Abdul Quader (61) of Tutpara, Shamima Akter (50) of Rupsa, Khulna, Subhas Dutta (61) of Fakirhat, Bagerhat, Nur Jahan (75) of Sujanpur, Jessore Sadar, Nasima Begum (56) of Kaliar Baka area of Narail, Abdur Rashid (45) of Chuadanga, Sakina Begum (65) of Pirojpur Nazirpur and Dulal Chandra Ghosh (65) of Bejpara in Jessore Sadar.
Another 124 people are undergoing treatment at the private hospital. Of these, 9 are admitted in the ICU and 11 are in HDU. In the last 24 hours, 21 people have been admitted and 20 have recovered. In the PCR lab, coronavirus was detected in 44 people from a 62 samples.
