Another 6.34 lakh doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine arrive in the country from Japan

Dhaka, August 29: Another 6,34,920 doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine have arrived in the country from Japan. The vaccine arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Saturday (August 28) at 7:15 pm on Cathay Pacific Airlines. Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Maidul Islam Pradhan said this.

Dr Shahriar Sajjad, assistant director of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) at Shahjalal International Airport, said 6,34,920 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine had arrived through the COVAX facility. These were received by officials from the Ministry of Health, the DGHS and the Japanese Embassy.

Earlier, on the afternoon of August 21, the fourth consignment of 7,81,000 doses of AstraZeneca from Japan landed at Dhaka's Shahjalal International Airport.

The third consignment of 6,16,780 doses of the vaccine arrived from Japan on August 2, through COVAX. The second consignment of 7,81,320 vaccine arrived on 31 July. Earlier, on July 24, the first consignment of 2,45,200 doses of vaccine arrived in Dhaka from Japan.
