Dhaka, March 9: Students will be able to apply for admission to the university in a batch system from 1 to 15 April for admission in the 2020-21 academic year. The test will start from June 19. Students with minimum qualifications will be able to apply early. The decision was taken at a meeting of the core committee comprising vice-chancellors of Jagannath University held at 12 noon on Monday (March 8). 

According to the meeting sources, students do not have to pay any fee for the initial application in the cluster universities.

Students who have passed HSC / Alim and equivalent examinations in 2019 or 2020 can apply.

Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 8.0 for Science, a minimum GPA of 7.5 for Commerce and a minimum GPA of 7.0 for Humanities.

Each branch must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 in SSC and HSC examinations.

Only for this year, students who have passed HSC in 2019 and 2020 will be able to participate in the admission test.

Students who have passed the previous year i.e. next timer from next year will not be able to apply.

Out of the initial applicants, the results of the students who are eligible to participate in the admission test on the basis of merit will be informed automatically through the message on 23rd April.

In the cluster public universities, as many students as there are opportunities to take the exam at the same time will be given the opportunity to make the final application on the basis of merit.

Initially selected students have to make a final application for participation in the admission test between 24th April to 20th May by depositing Tk 500 (Five Hundred) through mobile banking service.

All the tests will start at 12 noon at the specific test center simultaneously.

A student can select at least five test centers.

Students who have passed 2019 will not be able to choose the educational institution they are currently studying as a 'center'.

If necessary, the test may have to be taken outside the selected center.

Applicants will be able to download the admit card between June 1 and 10.

Admission test will start from June 19.

Detailed information of the admission test will be communicated to the admission related website and national daily through notification.
