Argentina finally opening embassy in Dhaka

Dhaka, January 31: Finally, Argentina is opening its embassy in Dhaka.

Argentina's Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero will come to Dhaka and inaugurate the embassy on February 27. According to sources in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a delegation led by Franco Seniliani, deputy ambassador of Argentina's New Delhi embassy, arrived in Dhaka on Monday (January 30) with the aim of opening an embassy in Dhaka. The delegation will discuss this during the visit.

Argentine Foreign Minister Santiago will come to Dhaka on February 26. He will inaugurate the embassy during the visit.

Argentina paid special attention to Bangladesh during the Qatar World Cup in December last year. Claudio Rosenweig, Undersecretary of the Foreign Policy Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country, said that he is thinking about opening an embassy in Dhaka again to strengthen commercial-political relations with Bangladesh.

After Argentina won the World Cup football title in December, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina sent a letter to the country's President Alberto Fernandez congratulating him.

In the letter, she wrote, "On behalf of the people of Bangladesh and myself, my heartiest congratulations to you and the friendly people of the Republic of Argentina and the winning team of the 2022 FIFA World Cup on the great victory of Argentine football."
