Armed Forces Day today: PM, President pay tributes

Dhaka, Nov 21: Today (November 21, Tuesday) is Armed Forces Day. On this occasion, President Md. Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid tribute to the martyrs of the liberation war by placing wreaths at Shikha Anirban this morning. They paid tribute to the burning of Dhaka Cantonment.

President Md. Shahabuddin paid tribute to the martyrs of the Liberation War by lighting a flame at Dhaka Cantonment at around 8 am. He was accompanied by three army chiefs and members of the armed forces. Then Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid tribute at 8:30 in the morning.

Armed Forces Day is being celebrated today (Tuesday, November 21) with due dignity and enthusiasm. Special prayers are offered in the mosques of all cantonments, naval bases and installations and air force bases of the country, wishing for the welfare and prosperity of the country and the future progress and progress of the armed forces. After the Fajr prayer today, the program of the day begins with a special prayer.

On the occasion of the day, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Md. Shahabuddin and Prime Minister and Defence Minister Sheikh Hasina gave separate messages.

In his speech, President Md. Shahabuddin said, "The government has formulated Forces Goal 2030 to modernize the armed forces. Under this, modern military equipment is being added to the armed forces, which will undoubtedly make the armed forces more modern, efficient and dynamic. Deep trust in leadership, mutual trust, respect, professionalism and above all discipline are very important in the development of armed forces."

In a separate statement, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, "Apart from professional duties, the armed forces are participating in any disaster response, infrastructure construction, humanitarian services, civil administration support and various nation-building activities. The members of the armed forces are brightening the country's image in the international arena by faithfully performing their duties in the United Nations peacekeeping operations."
