UN Visit Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations to visit Dhaka
Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 9 September 2023: Kanni Wignaraja, Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations and UNDP Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific, is coming to Dhaka. She will come to Dhaka on Saturday, he will return on September 12.
It is reported that during the visit, Kanni Wignaraja will attend a seminar of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology. She will visit Bhasanchar and Cox's Bazar on September 12. There she will meet Rohingya citizens and observe the impact of UN-backed interventions in Rohingya refugee camps.
Kanni Wignaraja will participate in high-level discussions with important government officials, including the Speaker of the Parliament and the Principal Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). These meetings are considered important for strengthening cooperation between UNDP and the Government of Bangladesh as well as advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) agenda in the region.
