Awami League candidate set to win big in Chittagong election
Dhaka, January 28: Awami League candidate Rezaul Karim Chowdhury is leading with 71,694 votes in 183 out of 735 constituencies of Chittagong City Corporation (CCC). The results were announced at 6pm on Wednesday (January 27) at the city's gymnasium. Returning Officer Muhammad Hasanuzzaman announced the results.
The results of a quarter of the centers show that Awami League's M Rezaul Karim Chowdhury got 74,694 votes.
BNP's Dr. Shahadat Hossain got 9,831 votes.
MA Matin of Bangladesh Islamic Front got 341 votes.
Abul Manzoor of the National People's Party (NPP) got 1,003 votes.
Mohammad Jannatul Islam of Islamic Movement Bangladesh got 964 votes.
Muhammad Wahed Murad of Islamic Front Bangladesh got 175 votes and Khokon Chowdhury got 188 votes as an independent candidate.
