Awami League has full confidence and faith in all the decisions of the Election Commission (EC), General Secretary of the party and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said.

He said these things at a press conference organized at the political office of Awami League President Sheikh Hasina in Dhanmondi on Saturday afternoon.

Pointing out that the Election Commission is now completely independent, the bridge minister said, "The government will now do routine work. Awami League will applaud the action of the commission even if it goes against us."

The Election Commission now has the jurisdiction to take administrative and law and order information regarding any election-related incident across the country. Awami League has confidence in any decision regarding the election of the commission.

General Secretary of Awami League said that if there is any conflict or disorder anywhere in the election, it is the full responsibility of the Election Commission to take action against it. Awami League will accept the decision taken by the commission.

Stating that leaving BNP and joining Awami League is not a crime, Obaidul Quader said many people like Shajahan Omar are saying inside that they will not join BNP again in their life.

"Whether the candidate is an individual or a party nominee – that is the beauty of democracy," he said.

Party leaders are disappointed and have lost confidence in the leadership of BNP. From this, the former and present leaders of the party participated in the election. Therefore, participatory elections mean that 29 registered parties participated.

Blaming the leaders of the party for the wrong policy of BNP, he said, BNP workers are disappointed.

"They are disappointed not with Awami League, but with their leaders. Because, BNP itself has taken a wrong policy. Because of this, today they are divided," he said.

Stating that it is not the policy of Awami League to break up any party, Obaidul Quader said that the ongoing one-sided demand of BNP has fallen into a deep hole. Their movement is stuck in the sands of error. No matter how hard you try now. BNP can no longer agitate.
