Awami League Rally Awami League rally at south gate of Baitul Mukarram tomorrow
Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 27 July 2023: Permission has been given to the 3 organizations of Awami League to hold a rally tomorrow, Friday 28 July, at the south gate of Baitul Mukarram in the capital. Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Khandkar Golam Farooq informed about permission for the rally.
Thanking Awami League and BNP for not holding the rally today, the DMP Commissioner said there is no threat surrounding the rally. However, security measures are being beefed up as the two major parties have programs. Police, RAB, BGB and Ansar will be deployed around the rally.
The DMP Commissioner also mentioned that they will not be able to enter the rally with bags and batons.
He said, no seditious speech can be given in the rally. They cannot use the mic outside of the boundaries set by the DMP. They will keep their volunteers to avoid public suffering. To maintain law and order, both political parties will be requested to have volunteers and they will fully cooperate with the police. Strict legal action will be taken in case of breakdown of law and order.
Earlier, the ruling party Awami League's three affiliated organizations announced the decision to hold a peace rally at the south gate of National Mosque Baitul Mukarram. This information was informed in a press release signed by the office editors of Jubo League, Swachhasebak League and Chhatra League on Thursday (July 27).
