Dhaka, March 30: General Secretary of Awami League and Minister of Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader said that Awami League wants to see the upcoming Upazila Parishad elections free, impartial and fair. For this reason, the party will come to a dead end even before this election of the local government.

He said these in an exchange meeting with leaders of Rangpur division at the party's central office on Saturday (March 30).

Obaidul Quader told grassroot level leaders, "Awami League is a big party. There will be problems only if there is organization. However, the party will not take responsibility if a leader acts irresponsibly. At the local level, conflicts should be forgotten and bridges should be built between each other. All barriers should be broken."

He said, "Sheikh Hasina's inclusive development has pushed BNP's politics into darkness. Having lost everything, BNP has now come back to oppose India. Don't get confused, they don't have the power to do anything."

Awami League general secretary urged people not to be misled by false propaganda.
