Bangabandhu gave nation governance in the shortest possible time: Ruling party in parliament

Dhaka, 9 April 2023 : Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was adamant about establishing democracy and rule of law in the country.

So he gifted the nation with governance in just 7 months. But Pakistan could not do it even in 25 years. It took three years to formulate the constitution of India. The United States took 5 years and 9 months.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Jatiya Sangsad in Kaniba, the MPs of the government party said this while participating in a general discussion on a resolution brought by the Prime Minister and Parliament Leader Sheikh Hasina on April 7 under Section 147 of the Rules of Procedure.

Minister of Information and Broadcasting participated in the discussion. Hasan Mahmud said that the path of democracy and parliament in Bangladesh has repeatedly stumbled. After the assassination of Bangabandhu in 1975, parliament was dissolved and parliamentary democracy was abolished and militarism was introduced. After that election, the person who opposed the independence of Bangladesh, the person who went to the United Nations as the deputy leader of the Pakistan delegation and spoke against the independence of Bangladesh - said 'there is no genocide in East Pakistan, Indian spies, friends of India are just making a mess', that person was elected by Parliament. Leader was made Prime Minister.

He said that in the history of Bangladesh's parliamentary democracy, in 1988, the parliament was made a laughing stock by making Asam Rab the home-grown leader of the opposition party in an election without a major party.

On February 15, 1996, Begum Khaleda Zia tarnished Parliament by making Bangabandhu's self-confessed murderer Colonel Rashid the Leader of the Opposition through a voteless election.

BNP MPs used inaudible language and unparliamentary language in this parliament. The way the parliament's microphone, notebooks, books were thrown, the dignity of the parliament has also been undermined.

Minister of Education Dr. Dipu Moni said, we will build a 'smart Bangladesh' under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina, but those who were involved in the killings in 71, 75 and 2004 must be resisted.

Shajahan Khan, Md. Abdus Shaheed, AS Feroze, Abul Kalam Azad, Simin Hossain Rimi, Md. Saifuzzaman, Nahim Razzak, Syeda Zakia Noor, Tanvir Shakeel Joy, Begum Habiba Rahman Khan, Jatiya Party members Shamim Haider Patwari, Anisul Islam Mahmud, Begum Roshan Ara Mannan and Moshiur Rahman Ranga participated in the discussion.
