Dhaka, 15 January 2023 : Assistant High Commissioner of Indian Embassy in Chittagong Rajeev Ranjan said that India is the true friend of Bangladesh.

India's relationship with Bangladesh is bound by blood ties, he said.

He said that India was on the side of Bangladesh in the independence war of Bangladesh. That relationship still exists. I strongly believe that this relationship will last a lifetime.

He said these things in the speech of the chief guest at a religious function in Chittagong's Anwara on Saturday. On the occasion of the 161st birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, Anwara Patnikotha Ramakrishna Ashram organized this event.

Dr. Rajiv Ranjan said Swami Vivekananda's life philosophy has become very relevant today. It is very important to spread Vivekananda's ideals especially among the youth. Because Yuvanayaka Vivekananda said, not conflict, but help. Not destruction, mutual understanding. Not discord, but harmony and peace. Swami Vivekananda inspired the youth.

Earlier on Friday afternoon in Chittagong's MA Aziz Gymnasium grounds, the chief guest's speech at the fifteenth children's and teenagers' gathering, Assistant High Commissioner Dr. Rajeev Ranjan said that there is no border between the people of Bangladesh and India even though there is a barbed wire fence. He said, "The relationship between the people of the two countries is so deep and heart-felt that even if there is a barbed wire fence on the border, there is no border between people. India believes in Neighbor First Principle. And as a neighbor, Bangladesh is always first. Bangladesh and India will go far together.

Maizbhandari Academy organized the event as part of a 10-day program to mark the 117th Urs of Syed Ahmad Ullah Maizbhandari (A).
Dr. Rajeev Ranjan said, "The relationship between India and Bangladesh has been tested. In 1971, India stood by Bangladesh and cooperated. Apart from providing shelter to the refugees, many Indians gave their lives by participating in the liberation war. India-Bangladesh relationship is of blood, which no one can break.

Appreciating the humanitarian work of Shahanshah Syed Ziaul Haque Maizbhandari Trust, the Indian Assistant High Commissioner said that Maizbhandari Academy and Syed Ziaul Haque Maizbhandari Trust are contributing to the welfare of the society through various programmes. Such as cooperation in the field of education, cooperation of the helpless and talented, assistance in the marriage of poor girls, assistance in self-reliance and various humanitarian activities.

He said, Hazrat Syed Ziaul Haque Maizbhandari has a saying, that is - my court is the Baitul Mokkaddes of the East. A meeting place of all nations. According to the saying - people of all religions and races meet in Maizbhandar. Besides, Maizvander believes in communal harmony. Because Sufism always talks about unity and love. The world can be conquered through love, which is the principle of Maizbhandari Tarika.
