He even warned that delaying the repatriation of refugees could put the entire region at risk. President Shahabuddin said these things while attending the East Asia Summit in Jakarta, Indonesia. This information was revealed in a report on Thursday.

According to reports, Bangladesh President Md Shahabuddin on Thursday urged the international community to find a sustainable solution to the ongoing conflict in Myanmar. Millions of Rohingya refugees have sought refuge in Bangladesh due to conflict in the Southeast Asian country.

He also told the East Asia Summit in Jakarta that delays in repatriating refugees and lack of humanitarian aid could put the entire region at risk.

It should be noted that President Md. Shahabuddin went to Jakarta, Indonesia at the beginning of this month to attend the 43rd summit of ASEAN, an alliance of Southeast Asian countries. He joined the conference on the special invitation of the president of ASEAN, Joko Widodo. In addition to ASEAN member countries and its partner countries, heads of state and government of several countries participated in this three-day conference.

Besides, the President attended the 18th East Asia Summit at the Jakarta Convention Center on Thursday. In addition to attending the ASEAN and East Asia Summits, Md. Shahabuddin will also meet with the heads of states and governments of various countries including the President of Indonesia.
