Bangladesh: COVID-19 claims 38 new deaths

Dhaka, November 22, 2020: Another 38 people have died in a single day due to coronavirus infection in the country, which is 10 more than the previous day.

The Department of Health said in a press release on Sunday afternoon that it had the latest information on the Kovid-19 infection.

It is said that as of 8 am, another 2,060 people in the country have been infected with coronavirus. So far, the number of identified patients in the country has increased to 4 lakh 46 thousand 341 people. The total number of deaths from coronavirus in the country has risen to 6,036 from 36 people who died in the last one day.

According to the Department of Health, another 2,006 patients have been cured in the last one day. The total number of healthy patients has increased to 3 lakh 82 thousand 428 people.

The first case of coronavirus was detected in Bangladesh on March 8.

According to the Department of Health, 13,060 samples have been tested in 117 labs across the country in the last 24 hours. So far 26 lakh 49 thousand 72 samples have been tested.


Considering the sample test in 24 hours, the detection rate is 14.75 percent, so far the total detection rate is 16.79 percent. Recognized, the recovery rate is 71.02 percent and the death rate is 1.43 percent.
Of those who have died in the last one day, 26 are men and 10 are women. All of them died at the hospital. Of them, 19 were over 60 years of age, 10 were between 51 and 60 years of age, 4 of them were between 4 and 50 years of age and 31 to 40 years of age and 1 was under 10 years of age.

Among the dead were 26 residents of Dhaka division, 3 residents of Chittagong division, 2 residents of Khulna and Mymensingh divisions and 1 resident of Rajshahi, Barisal and Rangpur divisions.
