Joy Bangla Bangladesh declares 'Joy Bangla' as national slogan
Own Correspondent, Dhaka, March 3: The government has issued a notification declaring 'Joy Bangla' as Bangladesh's national slogan.
A notification in this regard was issued by the Cabinet Division on Wednesday (March 2). The government has issued the directive as per the decision of the cabinet meeting held on February 20.
According to a circular signed by Shafiul Azim, joint secretary of the cabinet department, "Joy Bangla" will be the national slogan of Bangladesh. Constitutional office bearers, officials / employees of government, autonomous and statutory bodies working in the country and abroad will chant the slogan "Joy Bangla" at the end of all National Day celebrations and other state and government functions.
Teachers and students will chant the slogan "Joy Bangla" after the end of every day's assembly and speeches at meetings and seminars in all educational institutions.
Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam had said these to reporters after the cabinet meeting on February 20.
On that day, he said, "There is a judgment of the High Court in 2020, where 'Joy Bangla' had been asked to be considered as a national slogan and to take necessary steps to implement the decision. That is why the issue has been discussed, and it has been decided that the recognition of 'Joy Bangla' as the national slogan should be officially announced."
