Dhaka, November 28: Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's visit to Japan has been postponed by Bangladesh.

He said that Dhaka has taken this decision considering the country's political unrest and the outbreak of Corona.

He said this to reporters at a discussion meeting at Hotel Panpacific Sonargaon in the capital on Sunday (November 27).

In response to the question on whose behalf the Prime Minister's visit to Japan has been postponed, Dr. Momen said, "We have postponed it. They are ready. We postponed the tour due to multiple considerations."

The foreign minister said, "The then Prime Minister of Japan has invited us. We received this invitation two years ago. Couldn't go for more than two years due to covid. All the finals are now. But recently there has been an upheaval in the Japanese government. Three influential ministers resigned in succession."

Momen also said that in the meantime, we have received news that there will be some proposals in the Japanese parliament, about the current prime minister of the country. He (Japanese Prime Minister) is very busy. Second is because of covid. Japan still has to quarantine for covid. They will allow up to 10 people. We will go in a big group. Businessmen will go. We want to bring businessmen, so that investment in our country increases.

He said, our investment with Japan is increasing. But we want more investment. We will definitely go to Japan.

Advising not to think anything else about the postponement of the Prime Minister's visit, the Foreign Minister said, "We have a deep relationship with Japan. Japan is our good friend."
