Dhaka, March 27: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that India and Bangladesh want to see progress in the whole world rather than their own development and progress. Both countries want to see peace and stability in the world instead of instability, panic, terrorism and unrest. We are moving towards an equal and harmonious society in the path shown by Sri Sri Harichand Thakur.

He made the remarks at a gathering of Matua delegates at Orakandi in Kashiani, Gopalganj, on Saturday (March 26th) at noon.

At the time, Modi urged the people of the two countries to unite and face all challenges for their welfare. He said, "The kind of challenges that India and Bangladesh face, the two countries should work together to face every challenge. It is the path to the welfare of millions of people in both countries."

At noon, Narendra Modi went to Orakandi in Kashiani. There he worshiped at the house of Harichand Tagore and at the temples of Sri Sri Harichand and Guruchand Tagore. He later joined the Matua delegation in an exchange of views.

At the time, Narendra Modi said, "Before coming here, I visited the tomb of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. I paid homage there. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's leadership, his vision and his faith in the people is exemplary."

He said, "As the Indo-Bangladeshi government is strengthening the normal relations between the two countries, culturally this work has been the message of Thakur Bari and Sri Sri Harichand Thakur for many years."

Bangabandhu's daughters Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Rehana welcomed Modi at Tungipara. Later, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Bangabandhu's mausoleum together, laid wreaths, planted trees and signed a visitor's book.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Dhaka on a two-day visit to attend the birth centenary celebrations of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of independence.

He arrived in Dhaka on Friday (March 26). At 10:32 a.m., a special plane carrying the 71 to 72-member Indian delegation led by Modi landed at Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
