Bangladesh-Indian officials to attend crucial meeting today

Dhaka, June 19, 2022: The 7th meeting of the Bangladesh-India Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) is going to be held today.

It will discuss various bilateral issues.

Foreign Ministry sources said, Bangladesh Foreign Minister. AK Abdul Momen and Indian Foreign Minister. S Jayashankar will co-chair the meeting.

Momen arrived in India on Saturday to attend the JCC meeting. This is the first meeting after the Covid-19 epidemic. The previous meeting was held in 2020.
Officials said the JCC would review details of bilateral relations, including co-operation in the context of Covid-19.

However, the MEA said in a statement that the meeting will focus on issues including border management, security, trade and investment, communications, energy, water resources, development partnerships and regional and multilateral issues.

As part of his three-day visit to India, Foreign Minister Momen will attend an 'Interactive Business Meeting' jointly organized by the Bangladesh High Commission and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in New Delhi.
