Dhaka, August 11: US Ambassador to Dhaka Peter D Haas said Bangladesh is far ahead in information technology and he expressed hope that the country will develop further in the future.

He said, Bangladeshi youth are contributing in the field of innovation at home and abroad. The cooperation of the US government in the development and development of the information technology sector in Bangladesh will continue in the future as in the past.

Ambassador Peter Haas met with Minister of State for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak on Thursday. The ambassador said these things. The meeting was held at the State Minister's office at ICT Tower in Agargaon of the capital. During this, they discussed various issues of mutual interest of the two countries, especially the information technology sector of Bangladesh.

The ICT State Minister detailed the overall progress in the information technology sector of Bangladesh in the last 14 years, including various activities. The State Minister highlighted the importance of launching the operations of Starlink, a US-based high-speed internet service provider in Bangladesh, and enacting the Cyber Security Act and Data Protection Act to ensure the safety and welfare of the people.

Junaid Ahmed Palak said, Bangladesh will advance in various sectors including information technology if it gets the cooperation of the United States. During the meeting, the state minister and the ambassador agreed to work together with various universities of the United States and various educational institutions including the Sheikh Hasina Institute of Frontier Technology to create a technology-rich population and develop the information technology sector with the aim of building a smart Bangladesh by 2041.
