Dhaka, December 16: Referring to Bangladesh as India's development partner, Indian President Ram Nath Kovind said, "We are emphasizing on communication." He made the remarks during a meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at his hotel suite at Hotel Pan Pacific Sonargaon in Dhaka on Wednesday (December 15th).

Ram Nath Kovind said Bangladesh is India's development partner. Bangladesh-India partnership is wide and lively. After the meeting, Press Secretary to the Prime Minister Ihsanul Karim briefed the journalists.

The Indian President further said that he was very happy to be a part of the celebration of three mega events.

He said that at a time when Bangladesh was celebrating the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of Bangladesh's independence and the golden jubilee of diplomatic relations between the two countries, he was very happy to be present at these events.

Kovind arrived in Dhaka on Wednesday on a three-day visit to attend the special occasion of Mujib's centenary and the 50th Victory Day of Bangladesh's independence.

Meanwhile, he paid homage to the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman with flowers. Besides, the President of India also paid homage to the martyrs of the great liberation war at the National Memorial.
