Bangladesh: Letter to DC-UNO to ensure wearing mask

In the context of increasing coronavirus infection, letters have been sent to the Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs) to ensure that everyone wears masks.

The letter was sent from the Cabinet Division on Saturday (March 13).

It said, ‘Recently, corona infections and deaths have increased slightly compared to the last few months. In order to prevent the rate of infection, it is necessary to ensure the observance of hygiene in all areas including the wearing of masks.

The growing Corona infection situation was discussed at a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday.

After the meeting, Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam, quoting the Prime Minister, told reporters, "Wherever we are, whether we get vaccinated or not, we must abide by three things." We must use masks outside. Let's be as careful as possible. And number three is that the public gatherings, especially the social and religious gatherings in Cox's Bazar or Hill Tracks, should be in a limited number. Let us have a sense of responsibility - let me not go where there are too many people. Those who go should follow the hygiene rules. '

Among them are nine men and three women. According to the department-wise calculations, all the 12 people who died were from Dhaka division.

With 12 new deaths, the death toll in the country rose to 6,526. The total number of identified patients stood at five lakh 56 thousand 238 people.
