Dhaka, 25th June 2023 : Today, 25th June, people's aspirations were fulfilled with the launch of Padma Setu.

Today is the one year anniversary of the opening of the southern door. Ashazaganiya Bridge, which has cut through many conspiracies, is today a symbol of the potential of independent Bangladesh.

With the opening of the 6.1-five kilometer bridge, the status of Bengali reached a unique height.

A bridge was built in one thread after breaking the long period of immobility. That exciting story is still discussed among the elderly.

Not only has it made travel easier and safer. This is one of the pillars of economic liberation. The major obstacle is the end of communication isolation. Now, the more planned investments are made, the more benefits this bridge can bring home. Such economic analysts.

The missing link was the Asian Highway and the Trans-Asian Railway Network. In addition to internal travel, connecting the countries of the South Asian region initiated a revolutionary change.

There was a time when communication was difficult for people in the south. Padma river had to be crossed by launch or ferry.

Many people had to die while crossing this river. There is no need to talk about the suffering. Especially the Eid journey was like a painful memory.

Many people could not go home on Eid without getting ferry or launch. Besides, trade was also difficult due to lack of communication system. Various products were wasted in trucks. These are just memories now. One Padma Setu changed everything. Now you don't have to wait on the road for hours. There is no fear of suffering from Kanthalbari-Shimulia Ghat. People are reaching their destination easily in less time. The life of the people of this region, including the transport of goods, ambulance, seems to have returned to speed.

Even a year ago, the Padma river was the only obstacle in establishing uninterrupted communication from Satkhira to the capital Dhaka.

After the launch of Padma Setu, there has been a radical change in the communication system of Satkhira, the southwestern district of the country. Before the opening of the bridge, it used to take 12 to 24 hours to travel from Satkhira to Dhaka. During heavy fog, storm or any calamity, the ferry service at Daulatdia Ghat would be stopped. Not only Satkhira, the distance of all the districts in the south-west has reduced to one-third.
