Bangladesh Metro Bangladesh: Metro Rail service on Diyabari-Agargaon route stars today
Dhaka, February 18, 2021: Planning Minister MA Mannan has expressed hope that the first section of Metrorail will be launched from Diabari to Agargaon on December 16 this year on the occasion of Great Victory Day.
He made the remarks while inspecting the Metrorail depot at Diabari in the capital on Wednesday (February 18th) at noon. Top officials of the project including MD MN Siddique of Metrorail project were present at the time.
Planning Minister MA Mannan said, “I believe in our system. I have confidence in our staff, engineers, those who are working. With that confidence, we say, they are also citizens of this country, they also have patriotism. We want to inaugurate the first section of Metrorail up to Agargaon on Victory Day. '
"It simply came to our notice then. But those who are doing the work, our technical people who have to take their word into account. I believe we have confidence, people have confidence, they will do it. I will be able to make the first run on the great victory day of 2021. The head of government also wants that. The head of government has requested to do so.
"I am requesting on the spot today on behalf of the government, double work, triple work, work without food, show me this run on Victory Day," he said.
